About ORNZ

ORNZ crew

The aim of Obstacle Racers New Zealand (ORNZ) is to create a community by growing awareness and interest in obstacle racing as a sport. And using this network as a platform to promote the value of fitness, teamwork and community. We're all about getting people moving, pushing their personal boundaries, building team work and over coming obstacles!

If you're a race organiser, a promoter, a sponsor, a racer or someone that would like to contribute in any way, we would love to hear from you.

Dan Bowie

Dan Bowie - The Chief

Once injured couch potato who set himself the goal of completing the Sydney 2012 Tough Mudder with only 6 months to train. The result was one of the proudest accomplishments of his life, and an obstacle racing addict was born! Now with more events under his belt, and many more planned, he leads the charge preaching the greatness that is Obstacle Racing! When asked "Why?", Dan replied "I love pushing myself, but really, I'm only in it for the laughter".

Dan utilises his business experience to direct the path and shape of Obstacle Racers NZ. Currently working as a consultant, but with sound experience in sales and marketing, he spends most of his spare time and money working to make ORNZ great.

Corinne Bowie

Corinne Bowie - Creative Guru

The desire to rock her wedding dress gave her a new found fitness, but what to do with such a superpower? Mud, water, team work and pushing physical limits of course!!! Following in her husband's (Dan) new found love, she now flys the ORNZ flag as loud as he does. Her next big goal is to become a certified Tough Mudder in Auckland in April, That way maybe Dan will stop wearing his Orange headband around the house and referring to himself as "Dan the Tough Mudder"

Corinne is a very talented interaction designer who brings her skills in design, web, social media and digital strategy to the ORNZ project. She will be super happy once the new website is live so she can spend her weekends obstacle-ing instead of behind a keyboard.
